Fox 38 Factory E-MTB+ 2022 Float GRIP2 BOOST 170 mm MTB Suspension Fork 29"

Modern e-mountain bikes are very much in fashion – but they also place high demands on the material. The engineers at FOX have recognised this and responded with the electric-optimised 38 Factory E-Bike+ suspension fork for Enduro, Trail and All-Mountain.

The system weight of an E-MTB is considerably higher than that of a mountain bike that doesn’t have an electric drive. They also have a higher range and therefore can reach a higher mileage in a much shorter time. Due to the weight of the bike, the deceleration forces acting on the components during braking are even stronger and require very robust designs. But in addition to the increased demands on durability, it is first and foremost a matter of balanced and predictable riding behaviour. Suspension forks should not be allowed to twist too much under high stress when riding on tough terrain. This can result in poor performance and significantly less riding pleasure.

That's why FOX uses a reinforced fork chassis with a solid, forged fork crown for the e-bike optimized suspension forks. The crowns of normal MTB forks are usually milled out to save weight. In addition, the walls of the steerer tube and upper tubes are each 2 mm thicker in diameter. And though this results in a somewhat higher weight for the FOX E-Bike+ suspension forks, this is hardly noticeable on the E-MTB. The reinforced fork chassis, on the other hand, is definitely noticeable on the trail.

In addition to its massive 38 mm upper tubes, the FOX 38 Factory E-bike+ fork impresses with its outstanding GRIP2 damping with an ideal combination of uncompromising performance, perfect tunability, high stiffness and comparatively low weight.
FOX has improved the lubrication of the upper bushings and foam rings using special channels in the casting, which ensures consistently good response. What’s more, bleeding valves were integrated in the lower fork tubes. With the simple press of the Air-Release button, you can adjust the air pressure inside the casting to match the ambient pressure. This ensures consistent performance and optimal travel use. A particularly practical feature if you often ride the E-MTB to much higher trail starts.

Moreover, the lower leg arch is rounded and jutting forward to ensure outstanding stiffness values and provide ample head tube clearance. This is a great advantage with today's modern voluminous head tubes, with shorter offsets and when using Reach-Adjust headsets, as it avoids a collision between the head tube and the lower leg arch.
