Schwalbe MARATHON PLUS Performance Line Spike Hybrid Clincher Tyre

With the MARATHON PLUS Spike, Schwalbe is continuing the previous MARATHON WINTER PLUS under a new name. Its up to 240 tungsten carbide metal spikes, the Winter Compound and the siped tread ensure good grip on snow and ice and support you even when cornering and braking on wintry roads.

For high protection against punctures, the clincher tyre has a 5 mm thick SmartGuard insert made of highly elastic special rubber. The MARATHON PLUS Spike thus achieves the highest Schwalbe puncture protection level 7. A reflective strip complements the features; furthermore, the tyre is approved for pedelecs with pedal assistance up to 25 km/h. Details:

Note: To ensure the spikes remain permanently in the tyre, you should first run the tyre in for about 40 km on asphalt, avoiding heavy acceleration and braking. The spikes grip best at the recommended minimum pressure. On snow-free and ice-free roads, you can increase the air pressure to reduce road noise.
