Shimano completes the dozen! Even visually, the Shimano XTR RD-M9100 12-speed rear derailleur with Shadow Plus technology shows that it is a completely different calibre in terms of shifting performance to master the challenges of demanding race tracks. Compared to the previous model, the new angular, aggressive design with anodised aluminium surfaces clearly shows the technical focus in the development of the new 12-speed flagship rear derailleur for XC, Marathon or Enduro. Maximum acceleration and speed with low power loss was the objective that once again boosted Shimano's development dynamics. Larger guide and tension pulleys with 13 teeth are now installed for better guidance with increased chain skew. These help improve chain stabilisation, just like the Shimano Shadow RD+ design with friction damper.
